Performance Substrates: Thermal Transfer Tag

SureScan (TN grades)
Know SureScan like the back of your hand. For your most demanding performance requirements, use the best.  Use SureScan.  This product is most popular in 7 PT thickness, but is also available in 5.5 PT and 9 PT thicknesses.  SureScan is only available at Matthias Paper.  Manufactured on the most modern paper machines with characteristics custom engineered on the functional top side for the best thermal transfer bar code printing results.  It has a bright white, exceptional high quality coated backside ideal for flexographic and other print methods.  Our standard is the SureScan thermal transfer side wound out.  For on press verification use the rck test (rub with a ring, coin or key).  The thermal transfer side will show a very evident dark burnish mark.

Uncoated – (TF grades)
These products are produced to exact specifications in 96 brightness with an ultra smooth finish.  Both sides may be suitable for thermal transfer printing, but our standard is the slightly better side wound out.  Even though these items are not specifically engineered for thermal transfer, they have a long history of end user acceptance.  Trial qualification is recommended for new end users.

C1S – (TO grades)
These products are produced in a triple coated European matte finish on one side.  Even though these items are not specifically engineered for thermal transfer, they have a long history of excellent performance.  Trial qualification is recommended for any new end users of these products. 

C2S – (MO grades)
European matte finish.  Both sides are equally coated and equally suitable for thermal transfer printing.  These products are produced in a double coated European matte finish both sides.  As with the T0 grades, trial qualification is recommended for new end users.
